3 1/2 to 4 more weeks til the goslings are hatched.

Some serious nesting going on now.  She and her mate tolerated me getting 5 to 6 feet from them and taking their pictures.  Lots of sweet talking and reassuring them.

Notice the fluffy down from her nest sticking out from underneath her.

A female Canadian Goose generally has to sit on her eggs for 28-34 days before the goslings are hatched.  When she leaves the nest to find food, she covers the eggs to keep them warm until she returns.  When she is gone from the nest the male keeps constant guard.

Here is the male swimming about 6-10 feet from the nest in this picture.  Keeping vigil.  He may be close by because I was near the nest.  Often, the male watches from a good distance away so he doesn't draw attention to where the nest is.
