Seven baby geese!

Mom & Dad on guard with their seven baby geese that just got up from taking a nap - nursery time

Mom & Dad still being hyper-vigilant.  Check out the little guy in the back.  He's even too tired to eat lying down.

Looks like another one is too tired to stand.  It's probably exhausting being a baby goose!

Poor thing!  Can't help but wonder if maybe he was the last one that was hatched.  Being the youngest, he'd need extra sleep....

The seventh one is just coming into view.... The parents are jumping out into the Lake first and will encourage the little ones to jump in after them.

Two in, five more to go.

Something tells me that this is the same little guy that was sleeping by the tree.  Is it me or does he look smaller than his siblings?

People used to travel like this at one time - parents said "let's go" and we just went.  Now human parents take cd's or dvd's with them to occupy the children.  I don't see these geese parents entertaining their offspring.

Look at how FUZZY they are!!  Soooo cute!

Boy, it's not easy being a gosling!!  Look at the two struggling to get out of the water.  And the other 3 in the picture look like they're either bending over in pain or huffing and puffing.

On their way to "the steps"

I winced when I saw the little guy on the ground bounce off the step and land on the ground in front of his siblings.

Poor thing!  He tried to jump up the step and, instead, bounced off of it and landed on the ground

A little down time.

They're somberly looking at the steps.  I think a minimum height line could be helpful so that goose parents know how tall their offspring need to be to attempt mastering these steps.  Or else these poor goslings didn't get the jumping gene from their parents

Look at them dragging their beaks.  :(
